Red, Blue and Proud: IMR Cheers the Knights into the Grand Final
There’s something special about Newcastle when the Knights are flying. The jerseys come out, conversations turn to footy and a shared sense of pride brings the community together.
This week, that feeling is everywhere.
The Newcastle Knights are through to their first NRL Grand Final in 25 years after a remarkable 22–14 victory over Penrith. From last place in 2025 to a premiership decider against the Sydney Roosters, their rise has given Newcastle plenty to celebrate.
At Independent Mobility & Rehab, we’re proudly adding our voices to the red-and-blue roar.
Right on Our Doorstep
Located at 144 Lambton Road, directly in front of McDonald Jones Stadium, IMR is part of a neighbourhood where the Knights mean a great deal.
The stadium is a gathering place for families, friends and generations of supporters. For local businesses like ours, it’s part of the community we call home.
As excitement builds towards the Grand Final, we’re celebrating alongside our customers, their families, our team and the wider Newcastle community.
Whether you’ve followed the Knights for decades or you’re discovering the excitement for the first time, this is a week to enjoy together.
A Team That Kept Believing
The preliminary final captured the determination behind this Knights team.
Trailing 14–6 at half-time and reduced to 12 players, Newcastle fought back to secure their place in the decider. Sandon Smith’s two second-half tries helped deliver a finish supporters will remember for years.
That commitment to each other is something Newcastle can be proud of. Every effort mattered. Every player had a part to play.
Now, the team heads into the biggest game of its season with a city behind it.
Everyone Belongs in the Celebration
Footy has a wonderful way of connecting people. A jersey, a shared cheer or a conversation about the game can bring strangers together.
At IMR, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to take part in the moments that matter to them. Supporting independence and participation is at the heart of what we do.
For some supporters, celebrating means heading out with friends. For others, it’s watching at home with family, wearing every piece of Knights gear they own and cheering at the television.
However you join in, you’re part of Newcastle’s red-and-blue community.
Let’s Go, Newcastle!
To the players, coaches, staff and supporters … congratulations on an extraordinary journey to the Grand Final.
From all of us at Independent Mobility & Rehab, thank you for giving Newcastle so much to cheer about.
Get your colours on. Bring your voice. Enjoy the moment.
Go the Knights! 🔴🔵
